HBCU VR

The founder of March for College, Inc. Adrienne Brown, created the Gilbert Brown Music Scholarship Foundation after her father’s transition late 2023.

Gilbert Brown was a Washington, D.C. high school band director. Earned both his degree and masters in Music from Howard University.

He circle the music circuit, performing with The Dells, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and other D.C. bands. A proud member of the Omega Psi Phi. His genius in musicianship, the love he had for children, education and his enthusiasm for teaching lives on through the Gilbert Brown Music Scholarship Foundation by supporting high school and college musicians.

Promoting college recruitment, informing high school students and parents, getting them excited about college, and connecting the HBCU community.

Founded in 2010, our college fairs showcase HBCU bands performing, symposiums, and connecting musicians with college band directors. Our college fair & NBA game (Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls) in Washington, D.C., incorporates music and sports in our college fairs. Our 3D virtual campus site and www.HBCUontheYARD.com connects the college fair and HBCU community. Our new HBCU Soul Radio station brings music and information.
